Trim Castle in the Mists of the River Boyne
Trim Castle from the River Boyne north bank. On the left is the The Dublin Gate barbican tower at the southern curtain wall. The tower with lighteninng rods is the keep, of an cruciform shape with 20 corners designed for tactical defense. Taken on a May morning, before the mists cleared, as the nesting blackbirds flew from the keep.
