Ocotillo Sunset
This sunset waved a flag of peace and tranquility in the final seconds of a November sunset. Taken from within Saguaro National Monument, located east of Tucson, Arizona in the American Southwest. Ocotillo is a desert plant, unique to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona and Mexico. Long stalks, studded with sharp spines are its characteristic. In dry seasons the stalks are leafless and, with the first rain, small leaves grow, in hours, to line the fullness of moisture plumped ridges. The flowers grow in dark red spikes from the end of each tip.
